    Escalon Police Department Training

    The Escalon Police Department complies with the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.).  Prior to becoming a sworn officer, all officers must complete a P.O.S.T. approved Basic Academy.  Once sworn in as a peace officer, officers must complete a P.O.S.T. approved field training program.  The field training program generally lasts 12 - 14 weeks.  Once an officer completes their Field Training Program, they receive annual perishable skills training, refresher training, and legislatively mandated training.  For more information on the required training, visit the P.O.S.T. website at:
