VACANCY

The City of Escalon is seeking applicants interested in serving on the Recreation Commission for 2 vacancies with three year terms. Members must be registered voters in San Joaquin County and must reside within the Escalon Unified School District, with no less than three members residing within Escalon city limits.
Recreation Commission is the liaison of the recreation department to the community. We are looking for volunteers who will not only be a part of the commission but also take part in the programs and be an active volunteer/member. The commission is an advisory board who will provide input on the recreation department regarding recreation activities, sports programs, and facilities that will help meet the needs of the community. Members will be expected to provide advice and community perspectives regarding recreation services and programming for the residents, promote and stimulate public interest. Gather community opinions, needs and perceptions to advise the recreation department. Provide information to the community regarding available programs and facilities and encourage participation. Assist in the organizing of recreation programs both by policy and participation within the programs. Meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Applications may be picked up at City Hall, 2060 McHenry Avenue between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday or on the City website: www.cityofescalon.org

The deadline for returning applications to City Hall is Tuesday, October 3, 2023 by 5:00 p.m.
